Peonian Token

Copper, 2" in diameter, strung on a thin leather cord.
Front, the symbol of Peoni (a daisy).
Back, the words “Faithful Friend” in the Lakise script.

These tokens are given to lay followers who have done a great service for the Peonian church. The recipient of a token is not entitled to anything (such as hospitality from a Peonian priest), but possession of a token does tend to incline those who recognize it to regard the recipient favorably.

Each token is blessed when it is given. The blessing prevents the copper from tarnishing while in the possession of the original recipient; the token will tarnish rapidly once it changes hands.
